Kezia Drake, LPC-S

About me as a Counselor: I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is feeling truly seen, understood, and accepted. My approach is warm, compassionate, and curious. I enjoy helping people better understand their stories, recognize the patterns that have shaped them, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Using EMDR, IFS-informed therapy, and nervous system approaches, we move beyond surface-level coping skills and explore what is underneath. My goal is to help you understand yourself with more compassion and develop new ways of responding to yourself, others, and life’s challenges.

About me as a Personally: Outside of the therapy room, one of my greatest joys is spending time with my family. My husband and I have two teenagers, and our family understands firsthand the importance of connection, support, and caring for our mental health.

Our love for people and animals led my husband and I to create Golden Pet Therapy, where our therapy dogs teams visit mental health hospitals each week to provide comfort, connection, and support to individuals during difficult seasons.

About my Education: I intentionally saved this part for last. While I absolutely value education, I also know that degrees and letters behind your name only tell a small part of the story. Education has been an important part of my journey, but it’s certainly not the most interesting thing about me.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Education in Higher Education from Dallas Baptist University, followed by a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University.

And yes… you read that correctly. Two master’s degrees. Apparently, the first time around I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to be when I grew up. LOL!

It took me a minute (and an extra degree), but I eventually found my way to counseling…and I’m pretty glad I did.
